- US-based. Every translator in this directory works from the United States, so you can reach them in your time zone and a certification statement carries a US address.
- Experienced with immigration documents. Birth certificates, marriage licenses, divorce decrees, diplomas, police and court records — the documents USCIS actually asks for, with the formatting conventions reviewers expect.
- Active members of the International Board of Certified Official Translators (IBCOT, ibcot.org). Pop records each translator's IBCOT member ID and the date Pop checked it.
Why IBCOT membership: USCIS requires a signed statement from the translator certifying that they are competent to translate and that the translation is complete and accurate. Membership in a professional board puts a verifiable, accountable translator behind that signature — with an ID you can check, a code of ethics they agreed to, and a body that hears complaints.
Full disclosure: IBCOT is a separate company, but it shares an ownership interest with Juke Brands, the company behind Pop Immigration. We check the credential, we take no referral fees, and nobody can promise what USCIS will do.

What does USCIS require for a translation?
A full English translation of the document plus a certification signed by the translator stating that the translation is complete and accurate and that they are competent to translate from the original language into English (8 CFR 103.2(b)(3)). Notarization is not required by USCIS.
Can the translator work remotely?
Yes. Most certified translations are delivered as signed PDFs. Listings marked "Remote / virtual" accept documents by upload from anywhere in the country.
What is a language pair?
The direction of the work: Spanish to English is a different pair from English to Spanish. USCIS filings need translations INTO English, so search for your document's language → English.
